As a surgical nurse I am a specialist and illustrate various topics around the operating table – in a lively and funny way – under my artist name "lia-opsaal". It is important to me to present complex issues authentically but nevertheless in a simple, easy-to-understand way. This makes it easy to explain even complex surgical techniques. To take some of the weight off some of the topics, my illustrations are sometimes ironic and treat medical topics with a certain lightness.
